The hotel is situated on the ' Herengracht' one of the most beautiful canals. The Herengracht was originally dug in 1614 as a site for wealthy people to built their imposing houses in which they lives and conducted their business. More than two centuries later, the hotel Hegra was founded in one of these houses.
