The hotel has a long history, reaching back to the Golden Age of Venezia, when a rich merchant family adopted it as their residence. It was the high time of traders who travelled to the east, making their fortunes by trading exotic spices and goods. They enriched their residences with tapestries and frescoes by artists from all over the known world.
